Adobe Certifications

Adobe Certification Testing is a HUGE part of the Digital Media & Multimedia Design course offered at McFatter Technical College. Students of the program are encouraged to earn earn their Adobe Certified Associate badges in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Animate, Dreamweaver, After Effects and even Premire Pro. During the various courses, you will be tested in all of these softwares as part of the curriculum, and passing these tests will not only earn you a professional certification but it will also earn you extra credit in the section you are in.

“Where can I take a practice exam for an upcoming ACA Test?”

Digital Media & Multimedia Design students are encouraged to use Gmetrix.net in order to get used to the testing environment. Please note that the actual questions on the practice exams are not going to help you learn the answers to actual questions, but rather only there to get you used to the interface. The Username & Password for your account is your own (set up during your first week of class) and the Access Code is provided by the Instructor.  Students can practice using the Gmetrix system from any computer (home or classroom), since it is a browser based platform.

“Where should I practice for my ACA Tests?”

Digital Media & Multimedia Design students are given access to ACA Test Prep content via Gmetrix, which provides all the files, videos and training needed to earn your various Adobe Certified Associates badges. These practice lessons are available from any computer (home or classroom) since everything is done on the website.

“Where will we take our ACA Tests?”

McFatter Technical College has a fully equipped Testing Center, right on campus. Students are scheduled in groups to test during class hours, and all the testing takes place on CertiPort.com.  Each student will make their own account, with their own credentials. The Instructor cannot recover Usernames or Passwords, but will assist in account setup if needed.  All ACA Tests must be taken on the McFatter Campus.

“Will the ACA Testing cost anything out of pocket?”

As a student of the Digital Media & Multimedia Design program, all of your Adobe Certification Testing will cost you absolutely nothing out of pocket. While you are enrolled in the program, all of your testing fees are paid for. The cost of a standard Adobe Certified Associate Exam Voucher is about $100 each, so this saves you a LOT of money if you are trying to achieve multiple ACA Certifications.

“What happens if I fail an ACA test?”

Firstly, don’t panic. A lot of people fail ACA tests, and you are absolutely allowed to retake them, but you must wait 45 days to retake a test.  Secondly, the score you get on your ACA tests is added to the Gradebook, over a score of 700 (which is the minimum to pass) during the section in which you took it. The grade from the FIRST TEST you took is what stays in the gradebook, and any re-takes will not change the gradebook, or earn you extra credit for passing.  Score over 700 will earn Extra Credit for the section you are currently in.

Example ACA Test Scores & Gradebook Grades:

850/700 = 121%  •  750/700 = 107%  •  682/700 = 97%  •  512/700 = 73%  •  450/700 = 64%  •  300/700 = 42%  •  150/700 = 21%
