Embed Google Slides in WordPress Portfolio

Embedding a Google Slides presentation into your WordPress.com portfolio is pretty straightforward. If its the first time you are doing it, it can be a little confusing but just follow along with this guide and you will claim victory over your Google Slide soon enough. Trust me. Let’s dive right in!

Step 1: Publish Your Google Slide Presentation…

Google can’t give you an embed code for a presentation that is private, so we will need to fix that before we do anything. There are only a few steps, so don’t stress out.

1: Open your Google Slides presentation, and click File > Share > Publish to web.

2: Click the Publish button on the pop-up window, and confirm.

3: Click on the Embed tab (you are defaulted on the Link tab, see the image below).

4: Copy the embed code (CTRL+C) that appears after you have followed all the steps, then its off to WordPress we go!

Step 2: Publish Your Google Slide Presentation…

1. Log in to your WordPress.com dashboard.

2. Go to (or create) the page, post or portfolio you want to embed the slides on.

3. Click the + (Add Block) button and search for the Custom HTML block. Add it to your page.

4. Paste the embed code you copied from Google Slides into the Custom HTML block. Click Preview to see how it looks on your site, and to make sure it is working properly.

5. If everything looks good, hit Publish or Update.

YOU WIN! Now you can present your work to a client or the class right from the comfort of your own portfolio! How cozy!
