Project Introduction
Last week we started learning our HTML basics, and touched on the use of CSS to style our website designs. I sure hope you remember your stuff, because this week we jump into the deep end of the CSS pool!
We are headed right back to CodeCademy to jump into the CodeCademy Learn CSS module. One important thing to note is that this module takes DOUBLE the amount of time to get through as last weeks project did… so hopefully your time management skills are on point, and you are really making use of your Online time!
You will learn many aspects of styling web pages! You’ll be able to set up the correct file structure, edit text and colors, and create attractive layouts. With these skills, you’ll be able to customize the appearance of your web pages to suit your every need! Note on the prerequisites: If you did not make it through the module from last week, you are going to have a hard time making it through this project. This project is built upon last weeks work, so let’s hope you got through all the content!
For those of you who want even more training in the subject, and to see even more uses of CSS and have a better understanding of what it can do, the CSS Essential Training video will be a great addition to your workload this week. Obviously, with this much work on your plate, you will need to flex your time management skills to get everything done!
“Just like last week, don’t be afraid of learning a little code. I do this module each and every year to make sure I stay fresh on my CSS skills. It seems like a lot of time, but honestly CSS is a simple language to learn, and knowing how to make use of it REALLY increases your value to an employer! Don’t shy away from it!” – GD
